This drive is an excellent opportunity for photography and observing rural Andean life.
Breakfast and Briefing: Upon arrival at the starting point, enjoy a nutritious breakfast prepared by your local guide. During this time, you’ll receive a comprehensive briefing about the trek’s route, safety procedures, and the historical significance of Waqra Pukara.
The Trek Begins: The trek to Waqra Pukara is as breathtaking as it is challenging. The trail meanders through a landscape that is a tapestry of stark mountain ridges and lush river valleys.
Arrival at Waqra Pukara: As you approach Waqra Pukara, the “Horn Fortress” reveals itself, perched dramatically on a cliff’s edge, its horn-like peaks jutting into the sky. The site’s architecture, which includes terraces, rooms, and ceremonial platforms, is a testament to the Inca’s strategic military and ceremonial designs.
