Experience the best of the Tambopata Amazon Rainforest on a 4-day adventure that will take you deep into the heart of Tambopata National Reserve. On the first day, our staff will pick you up at the airport or bus station and take you to the lodge. There, you will receive all the information you need for the tour. Then you will be transferred to the port to take a boat to the lodge. You will enjoy a refreshing welcome juice before settling into your room.
Our staff will pick you up from the bus station, airport, or hotel and take you to the office. Then, you’ll be transferred to the port on the Madre de Dios River.
The boat will take you on a one-hour cruise to our lodge, Amazon Lodge. You’ll have a welcome meeting with a delicious, traditional fruit juice. Then, we will have time to settle into our rooms.
After a rest, you will go on a two-hour walk in the rainforest. Skilled and experienced local guides will show you our trails. You will see trees that are more than five hundred years old. You will also see animals like toucans, orioles, trogons, macaws, monkeys, snakes, and butterflies.
You will have the opportunity to experience the magic of our forest, which is next to the Tambopata National Reserve. This reserve is 278,000 hectares in size and is protected.
After lunch, we will go to Monkey Island, which is located in front of our lodge across the Madre de Dios River. There, we will look for the family of capuchin monkeys that live on this island.
Then, we will return to the lodge. In the evening, we will go looking for white alligators, the Madre de Dios River with flashlights on the sandbars, and we can also see the capybara, the largest rodent in the world, weighing up to 60 kilos. Then, we will return to the lodge for dinner and rest.
After breakfast, we will take a 3-kilometer hike through the dense tropical jungle to Lake Sandoval, home to piranhas, one of the largest in the Tambopata National Reserve.
We will paddle in a canoe and observe many birds and monkeys, including shansho cormorants, jacanas, puma herons, vultures, howler monkeys, monkey monks, black capuchins, tamarins, and sloths.
We may also see the endangered family of giant otters, which can grow up to two meters long, and the largest alligators, which can reach over 12 feet in length.
We will return to the lodge for a typical lunch and in the afternoon enjoy the extraordinary spectacle of the sunset over the Madre de Dios River. Then, we will have dinner and rest.
5:30 a.m. We will take a short walk through the canopy walkway, which is about 40 meters high. From there, we can see the Madre de Dios River and different types of birds, including toucans, trogons, macaws, tanagers, and orioles.
After breakfast we will prepare for an activity challenges on trees over 30 metres high, for this activity we will have an instructor guide who will give us a talk on how to use the arnet safety for the zip line, feel the adrenaline on trees, return to the lodge. Lunch and rest.
In the afternoon, we’ll have the opportunity to enjoy an exciting adventure together as we cross the Madre de Dios River by kayak to the Island of the Monkeys.
After enjoying breakfast, we will head back to the city of Puerto Maldonado, Airport or Bus Station.
