Day 1Reception in Lima

We’ll arrange for your pick-up from Lima airport upon your arrival, ensuring a smooth transition to your hotel. Whether you arrive in the morning or the afternoon, our staff will be there to greet you and provide comfortable transportation to your accommodation in Lima.

Once you’ve settled into your hotel, you can unwind and relax after your journey, perhaps taking some time to explore the local area or indulge in some delicious Peruvian cuisine.

Day 2Lima - City Tour 1/2 Day

In the morning, after enjoying breakfast at the hotel, you’ll embark on a comprehensive tour of Lima, known as the “City of the Kings.” The tour will include visits to several iconic landmarks and attractions in the historic center of Lima.

You’ll start by exploring the Plaza de Armas, the main square of the city, where you’ll see the Government Palace, the Cathedral of Lima, the Archbishop’s Palace, and other notable buildings. Afterward, you’ll take a leisurely stroll to visit the oldest bar in Lima, the Cordano Bar, before heading to the San Francisco Museum.

At the San Francisco Museum, a 17th-century religious art museum, you’ll have the opportunity to admire its beautiful library and explore the mysterious Catacombs, which house many bones. This part of the tour offers a fascinating glimpse into Lima’s colonial past and religious history.

Following your visit to the San Francisco Museum, the tour will continue to the Pueblo Libre district, where you’ll visit the Larco Private Museum. Housed in an 18th-century mansion built on a pre-Columbian pyramid, the museum boasts an extensive collection of over 45,000 pieces of original pottery. You’ll have the chance to admire countless treasures and artifacts, including gold and silver items, making it one of the world’s most prestigious museums.

Day 3Lima - Balletas islands - Ica - Huacachina

5:00 AM: You will be picked up from your hotel in Lima to begin your journey to Paracas, a popular tourist destination in the province of Pisco, located approximately 245 kilometers away. Along the way, we will make a brief stop in the city of Chincha, where you will have the option to use the facilities or enjoy a typical breakfast (optional).

8:00 AM: Departure to the Ballestas Islands. You will board a motorized boat to embark on a tour of the famous Ballestas Islands. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to observe the renowned Candelabra, an immense petroglyph etched into the side of a hill in the Bay of Independence, Paracas. As we venture 30 minutes offshore, you will witness the diverse marine fauna inhabiting the Ballestas Islands, including guaneras (seabird colonies) and various bird species such as the Peruvian booby, Guanay cormorant, red-legged cormorant, pelican, Humboldt penguin, as well as sea lions and dolphins. After a 2-hour tour, we will return to the private port of the Bay of Independence to proceed with the next excursion.

10:00 – 10:30 AM: Departure to the city of Ica.

11:00 AM: Visit to the El Catador or Nieto Craft Winery, renowned winners of national awards. Here, you will learn about the artisanal production of wine and pisco, and have the opportunity to taste the liquors produced by the winery.

Lunchtime: Enjoy a delicious lunch.

4:30 PM: Visit to the Oasis and Lagoon of Huacachina. This natural oasis, located five kilometers west of the city of Ica, is surrounded by towering sand dunes and emerald green waters. You will embark on a thrilling 1.5-hour buggy tour through the dunes, experiencing the excitement of speed and adrenaline while enjoying panoramic views of the landscape. After the buggy tour, you will have free time to explore the oasis, take pictures, and relax by the lagoon.

After a day filled with adventure and exploration, we will return to the oasis of Huacachina to conclude the tour.

Day 4Ica - Flight on the Nazca lines - Arequipa

AM: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.

8:00 AM: Board our private transport for a 2-hour journey to the city of Nazca.

Flight over the Nazca Lines: Experience a 35-minute flight over the Nazca Lines, where you’ll have the opportunity to observe up to 12 of the most enigmatic figures, including the Whale, Trapezoids, Astronaut, Monkey, Dog, Condor, Spider, Hummingbird, Alcatraz/Flamingo, Parrot, The Hands, and The Tree.

After the flight, we will have an exquisite lunch in the city of Nazca, followed by free time in the afternoon to explore the area on your own.

At 10:00 PM: Board the bus to the City of Arequipa. Enjoy a comfortable overnight journey lasting approximately 10 hours.

Day 5Reception in Arequipa - City Tour 1/2 Day

Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel to rest and freshen up.

After lunch, our guide will meet you at your hotel lobby to begin the tour of the “White City.” The tour includes:

  • Visit to the Convent of Santa Catalina: Explore this iconic attraction, often referred to as the gem of Arequipa. The convent was opened to the public in 1970 after being closed for 400 years. Admire the colonial art and architecture within.
  • Plaza de Armas: Visit the main square of Arequipa and take in its historic significance and architectural beauty.
  • Cloisters of the Society of Jesus: Explore the cloisters and learn about their history and significance.
  • Neighborhoods of Cayma and Yanahuara: Enjoy a scenic tour of these neighborhoods, with breathtaking views of the Misti volcano.
  • Visit to the Founder’s Mansion: Explore this traditional colonial mansion and learn about its history and cultural significance.

Day 6Arequipa - Chivay

From 7:30 to 8:00 AM, we will pick you up from your hotel to embark on our journey to one of the deepest canyons in the world. The trip will take approximately 4 hours, starting on the Yura road and bordering the snowy volcano Chachani towards Pampa Cañahuas, which is part of the Aguada Blanca and Salinas National Reserve. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to observe the beautiful South American camelids, the vicuñas. As we pass through the bofedales of Tocra, you’ll also have the chance to see a variety of migratory birds, including flamingos. Along the way, we’ll also pass by the crater of an extinct volcano called Chucura. Our journey will culminate at the viewpoint of the volcanoes, which is the highest point of the road at 4,910 meters above sea level, offering panoramic views of the western mountain range.

In the afternoon, we’ll pick you up from your hotels to visit the medicinal hot springs of Calera, where you can relax and enjoy the thermal water at temperatures ranging from 35 to 38 degrees Celsius for approximately 2 hours. Afterward, we’ll return to our hotels. In the evening, around 7:00 PM, we’ll pick you up again from your hotel to enjoy dinner accompanied by a beautiful show or a welcome party featuring traditional dances of the Colca Valley people.

Day 7Chivay - Colca Canyon - Puno

After breakfast, we will depart for the “Cruz del Condor”, the starting point of the canyon where we will admire its depth and have the opportunity to view the condor in its natural habitat. After a brief stop at the “Cruz del Condor” to take in the breathtaking landscape, we will continue our journey through the Colca Canyon, passing by charming small towns such as Pinchollo, Madrigal, Lari, Maca, Achoma, and Yanque.

Following our exploration of the Colca Canyon, we will return to Chivay for lunch. Afterward, we will proceed to Puno, where we will conclude the tour at approximately 18:30 PM.

Day 8Puno - Titicaca Lake (Uros and Taquile island)

After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to the port of Puno, located on Lake Titicaca. Here, you will embark on a boat to visit the Floating Islands of the Uros, where you will spend approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. During this time, you will have the opportunity to learn about the customs of the Uros people and observe their unique crafts.

Following your visit to the Floating Islands, the journey will continue by boat to Taquile Island, known for its stunning landscapes and rich cultural heritage. You will have the chance to explore the island, appreciating its ethnic and archaeological significance.

After the boat tour, you will return to the Port of Puno, where you will be picked up and taken back to your hotel. Alternatively, if you prefer, you can be dropped off in the center of Puno to explore the city on your own.

Day 9Puno - Cusco (Tour bus)

After enjoying a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we will pick you up and transfer you to the bus station of the company. From there, we will embark on a scenic route that will last approximately 9 hours. Along the way, we will have four excursions and guided visits to various tourist attractions in the southern highlands corridor.

Our first stop will be at the temple of Andahuaylillas, often referred to as the Sistine Chapel of America, where you will have the opportunity to admire its remarkable architecture and artistic treasures. Next, we will visit the Inca temple of Raqchi, known for its impressive archaeological ruins.

For lunch, we will stop in the city of Sicuani, where a delicious buffet lunch will be included as part of the tour. Afterward, we will continue our journey, passing through the breathtaking Raya pass at an altitude of 4,335 meters above sea level. Along the way, we will also visit the Aymara Inca Museum of Pukara, where you can learn more about the rich cultural heritage of the region.

Upon arriving in Cusco, our staff will be waiting to welcome us and transfer us to the hotel where we will spend the night, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing stay.

Day 10Cusco City Tour

After enjoying a delicious breakfast at the hotel, you will have the opportunity to try an aromatic coca-leaf tea, which can help alleviate any symptoms of altitude sickness due to the city’s elevation. Following this, you can relax and have lunch at your leisure before the afternoon tour.

At 13:30 PM, our guide will meet you at the hotel lobby to begin our city tour of Cusco. We will start by visiting the Temple of the Sun, also known as Koricancha, a magnificent example of Inca architecture blended with Spanish colonial style. From there, we will proceed to the Plaza de Armas, the heart of Cusco, surrounded by historical buildings and the stunning Cathedral.

Our tour will continue through the main streets of Cusco, allowing you to immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of this ancient city. We will then visit the San Pedro Market, where you can explore stalls selling local produce, handicrafts, and more.

Additionally, we will visit two archaeological sites near the city: the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuaman, known for its massive stone walls and panoramic views of Cusco, and the mysterious site of Qenqo, where you can marvel at ancient Inca ceremonial structures.

At 18:00 PM, we will transfer you back to the hotel, where you can relax and unwind after a day of exploration.

Day 11Cusco - Sacred Valley with Moray - Aguas Calientes

The tour will commence at 7:30 AM, with our guide picking you up from your hotel in Cusco. From there, we will embark on a journey to the upper part of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, starting with a visit to the typical market of Chinchero and its colonial temple. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the vibrant culture and traditions of the local people.

Next, we will explore Moray, an archaeological site known as the center of agricultural experimentation during the time of the Incas. You’ll marvel at the circular terraces that served as agricultural laboratories, showcasing the ingenuity of ancient Inca engineering.

Continuing our journey, we will visit the Salineras de Maras, fascinating salt mines that have been in operation since Inca times. You’ll witness the intricate network of salt pans cascading down the mountainside, creating a stunning visual spectacle.

Afterwards, we’ll head to the town of Urubamba to enjoy lunch (optional, $20 USD per person) before proceeding to our next destination. Following lunch, we’ll drive alongside the Urubamba River towards the charming town of Ollantaytambo.

Upon reaching Ollantaytambo, we will visit the Inca City, renowned for its impressive Incan architecture and urban planning. You’ll have the chance to explore the intricate stone structures and learn about the rich history of this ancient site.

Finally, we will escort you to the train station, where you will board the train departing at 15:37 PM bound for Aguas Calientes. During the two-hour journey, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the valley, snow-capped mountains, and picturesque Inca farming terraces.

Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, our staff will be waiting for you just outside the train station to accompany you to your hotel. You will spend the night in Aguas Calientes, nestled amidst the stunning Andean landscape.

Day 12Machu Picchu - Cusco

This day marks the culmination of our journey as we finally visit the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu. After enjoying breakfast, your guide will meet you at your hotel lobby, and together, we’ll proceed to the bus stop to board the bus.

The bus ride will take us on a scenic 30-minute journey to the citadel of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, we’ll pass through the control point where you’ll present your ticket and passport. Then, you’ll embark on a private, guided tour led by our knowledgeable guide.

During the tour, you’ll explore the most important sites within Machu Picchu, including the Main Plaza, the Sun Temple, the Sacred Sundial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, and the ancient cemeteries. The guided tour will provide fascinating insights into the history, architecture, and significance of this iconic Inca citadel and its structures. This immersive experience will last for more than two hours, allowing you to truly appreciate the magnificence of Machu Picchu.

After the guided tour concludes, you’ll have free time to further explore Machu Picchu at your own pace. You can choose to hike to the Sun Gate or the Inka Bridge, both offering stunning views and memorable experiences. Additionally, there is the option to climb either Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, though this incurs an additional cost of $70 USD per person.

At the appropriate time, we’ll descend from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes, where we’ll catch the usual afternoon train departure to Ollantaytambo. From there, we’ll embark on a two-hour car ride back to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 13Free day in Cusco

After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, you’ll have a free day to explore Cusco at your leisure and make any final purchases or discoveries you wish. Cusco, with its rich history, vibrant culture, and charming streets, offers plenty of opportunities for exploration and discovery.

You may choose to wander through the historic streets of the city, visit local markets to shop for souvenirs or handicrafts, or simply relax and soak in the atmosphere of this fascinating destination. Don’t forget to indulge in some delicious Peruvian cuisine at one of the many local restaurants or cafes.

Whether you’re interested in exploring historical sites, shopping for unique items, or simply taking in the beauty of Cusco’s surroundings, you’re sure to find something to enjoy during your free day in the city.

Day 14Rainbow Mountain Tour

Your tour guide will arrive promptly at 5:00 AM to pick you up from your respective hotel in Cusco. You’ll board a private van and embark on a journey to the town of Cusipata. During the approximately 2-hour trip, you’ll pass through various villages and enjoy the stunning views of the Peruvian Andes.

Upon arrival in Cusipata, you’ll make a stop to enjoy a delicious breakfast and gather necessary items for the hike. After this brief stop, the journey will continue for approximately 50 minutes, during which you’ll observe breathtaking landscapes, mysterious mountains, and deep valleys.

Arriving at Phullawasipata at an elevation of 4200m/14,300ft, the uphill hike to the Rainbow Mountains begins. The trail ascends for about two hours until you reach the summit at 5100 meters above sea level. Along the way, you’ll encounter glacial peaks, red mountains, rocky hills, and traditional llamas and alpacas grazing in the valley below. From the top, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Andes and the Andean fauna.

After enjoying ample time to take pictures and videos of the stunning scenery, you’ll begin the descent, this time taking a detour towards the Red Valley. The earth in this valley has a special pigmentation, resulting in an intense reddish color due to the abundant minerals present. This unique route will last between 1 to 1.5 hours, offering a special experience away from the crowds.

Once you reach Phullawasipata, your transport will be waiting to take you back to Cusipata for a well-deserved and delicious lunch. Later in the afternoon, you’ll return to Cusco, arriving in the city at approximately 16:00 PM. Your guide will then drop you off at your respective hotel.

Embarking on the Peru Journey Tour was an absolute adventure of a lifetime. From the bustling streets of Lima to the serene beauty of Lake Titicaca, every moment was filled with wonder and excitement. We explored ancient ruins in Cusco, marveled at the enigmatic Nazca Lines, and ventured deep into the heart of the Amazon rainforest. The highlight, of course, was the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu, a place that truly captivated my soul. Staying with a local family on Amantany Island and experiencing their way of life was a humbling and unforgettable experience. Every day brought new discoveries and unforgettable memories, making this journey through Peru truly remarkable.
