The Rainbow Mountain, traditionally known as Vinicunca or Colourful Mountain, is one of Peru’s newest adventures and best natural attractions. It is located 100 kilometres from the city of Cusco, at an altitude of 5100 metres above sea level. It is a natural formation discovered by nature itself, dyed with colours such as red, purple, green, yellow, pink and other shades. Since 2016, this tourist attraction has been the second most visited after Machu Picchu, attracting numerous visitors to marvel at its breathtaking beauty.

Itinerary

Day 1Cusco – Cusipata – Rainbow Mountain – Cusco

You will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco, and taken on a two hours bus ride to the south of the Cusco city to the town of Cusipata.

upon Arrival in Cusipata, You will enjoy a delicious breakfast. Then a one hour drive to the starting point of the excursion.

At the starting point, Once there, you will receive a briefing on ATV driving. Then, hop on and ride the ATVs for an hour until you reach Qosqopata.

Have fun, and enjoy the mountain of colours Vinicunca located at 5.020 metres above sea level.  an impressive natural landscape that you will have plenty of time to explore.

After you have taken some great photos, walk back to the ATVs. Then, drive back to the restaurant. Enjoy a hearty lunch, and a short break.

Finally, you will take the bus back to Cusco. You will arrive at the Plaza de Armas around 4pm.

Embarking on the Rainbow Mountain Adventure was an exhilarating journey that left us in awe of the natural wonders of Peru. Our day began bright and early with a prompt pickup from our hostel in Cusco, setting the tone for an adventure-packed day ahead.

As we traveled through the picturesque landscapes of the Cusco region, our anticipation grew, and upon reaching Cusipata, we enjoyed a hearty breakfast to fuel our adventure. The journey continued to the starting point of the hike at Pampa Chiri – Pitumarca, where our knowledgeable guide briefed us on the trail and the surrounding mountains.
